The question this week is – Are you one and done type? Or do you run the someones over and over?

I have to say yes to both, there are races I think as long as I’m able I’ll run and there are those I don’t care if I do again. I always have fun in my races but it is why I do them that makes it to where I think we’ll do them every year.

Some of the races I’ll do every year as long as I can are:

The Lottie Moon 5K

Our church has this run each year in September and it raises money for missions. If you want to read more about this run you may want to read this post.Lottie Moon 5K walk/run

2014 Paint the Town Pink 5k

Paint the Town Pink

This of course supports cancer awareness and research. We do this for all those who we love that are and have struggled with fighting this awful disease.Paint the Town Pink

The Fight for Air Climb

In this, we climb up 51 floors to the top of 191 PeachTree Towers. This raises money for research , treatment and awareness for lung diseases. Why I climb

There are several others that we run each year because they are close or fun. But for us its important to do these each and every year. I would love to see some of you at these races next time.

Are there runs that you do every year, if so why do you ?

Proverbs 4:26

Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

Tuesdays On The Run- The Hardest Part of Running

The topic this week is – The hardest part of running is?

It’s hard to pick only one, for me it’s really two and I’m not sure which is the hardest.

The first hardest thing about running for me is, well running. You know finding the time in my busy schedule to get out the door and run. It seems like everything in life is trying to get us not to run. I have to be quite motivated to run sometimes all I want to do is sit and take a break, and relax. But when I do get out and run , I’m refreshed and feel so much better. So running is just what I need even if thats not what I think I want at first.

One thing that helps me get out the door and run is running buddies whether they have two legs or four, its easier to say ,”Yes, lets go for that run!” I don’t like to disappoint my running buddies.FB_IMG_1441421234191image

The second hardest thing about running is to stay running. For the longest time I would run consistently for a while , but than something happens. You know (life) it maybe someone gets sick or we get really busy one week and before I know it it’s been a few weeks to a month sense my last ran. And it seems the longer the break the harder it is to get running again.

One thing that has helped me to continue running without constantly stoping and starting over and over again, is to sign up for races on a regular basis. That has really helped me , because I don’t want to get there and do the run dreadfully. I like to end a run knowing I gave all I had getting here and during the run.2014 Paint the Town Pink 5k

Those for me are the worst.

What do you struggle with?

Do you have a hard time with these like me, how do you concur them?

Galatians 6:9

And let us not grow weary of doing good,

for in due season we will reap,

if we do not give up.

My Favorite Race Medals

My Favorite Race Medals

I have to say it’s hard to pick a favorite.

One of my favorites would  have to be the first one I received from the first run I participated in, it was from the Lottie Moon run that my church has each year. This was the beginning of my running bling.image

Another one would be my metal from the 2015 Fight for Air Climb, it’s not a run but you have to climb 1252 stairs, 51 flights to the top of 191 Peachtree Towers in Atlanta. We climb in honor/ memory of my mother and for my Husbands father who is struggling with COPD. We do this for those who struggle with every breath they take.image

The first year (2014) we were happy to reach the top but I wanted to medal for my mom and in the 2015 we all did. Ken got 2nd, Faith got 1st and I got 3rd, we were all very happy.Mary Jo's Crazy Climbers

If you want a challenge you should give it a try, you’ll be helping people and yourself at the same time.image

Fight for Air Climb Atlanta

The next would be the soldier’s half marathon this was our first half  so it will always be special.image

The next and most recent is the Sea Turtle half, the course and weather were beautiful. This was our second half, I was able to PR and also place 3rd in my age group.image

I have to say it is hard to pick favorites because I like them all for different reasons.image
